Departmental Activities
The Department is conducting medicolegal training (in collaboration with SIHFW, Gandhinagar) for medical officers working in periphery i.e. PHC,CHC, Government Hospital etc.. to train them in dealing with medicolegal work. We had conducted training of two batch i.e. from 08-02-2017 to 10-02-2017 & 15-02-2017 to 17-02-2017. Next two batch training starts from 01-03-2017 to 03-03-2017 and 08-03-2017 to 10-02-2017. We trained them to do postmoretm examination,how to write postmortem note,to make various medicolegal reorts i.e. injury report, drunkenness report, age estimation report,examination of victim and accused of sexual offence, maintaining medicolegal records etc…

GOALS :
The department works towards achievement of following goals…
- To provide an Expert quality Medico-legal center to the society.
- To produce future expert teachers, researchers and practitioners in the field of Forensic Medicine.
- To educate future physicians & surgeons about legal responsibilities in practicing medicine.
OBJECTIVES :
- Impart education in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology to under-graduate and post-graduate students with the help of modern teaching aids.
- Identify and define the existing as well as future Medico-legal problems as they emerge in the community and work to resolve such problems by planning, implementing, evaluating and modulating Medico-legal services.
- Undertake Medico-legal responsibilities and discharge Medico-legal duties, which arise in day today medical practice as well in hospital.
- Keep updated with all recent developments and emerging trends in the field of Medical Ethics and the Law.
- Evaluate professional activities, educational needs and select appropriate learning resources periodically.
- Deal with practical problems related to forensic, clinical, emergency,environmental, medico-legal and occupational aspects of Toxicology.
